Trip to Texas, 2

Six Flags!
Kacin's favorite ride was the Cars he got to drive and the Pirate Ship.
Kyler loved the Titan (BIG rollercoaster) and the Roarin' Rapids.
I enjoyed the Rapids and the Pirate Ship the best.
Eric enjoyed The Titan and the Rapids.

Tyson making us really, really dizzy on the teacups . . .
 The automobile's we rode 5 times throughout the day . . .
Super soaked after two rides on the rapids . . .
With strength like Superman. . .

Trip to Texas, 1

We were so excited to finally get to Dallas!
Kacin started his Texas countdown on the calendar
on day 75.
Note to self:
In order to avoid
constant inquiry and
anticipation overload
about future trips,
keep traveling a surprise until at least day 5 on the countdown.
(Without exaggerating,
there were questions about our trip on at least 60 of those days!
Usually the same questions, too.)

When we arrived, we met my sister, Stefanie,
19 month old Bryce and 2 month old Preston
at the hotel.
We just love our little nephews/cousins!
My boys were so good and tried to be really helpful
with their cousins all week.

Eventually, we made our way to the airport
to pick up Tyson.
It worked out that he was doing some pilot's training that weekend
and was able to fly down to Fort Worth,
hang out with us on Saturday,
then fly back to the air force base on Sunday.
We saw him land and then were able to get up close to his plane.
All week, whenever we saw or heard a plane,
little Bryce would say "Fly! Daddy, Fly!"
We all thought it was pretty cute

Hot Cocoa, Please

It wasn't the sticker book, new Transformer, crayola 3D art, or making Mosaics
during the 9 hours of traveling.

It was the hot cocoa that kept his attention longer than 2 minutes.

Hoops a Cure

Kacin hurt his leg playing outside on Thursday.
I'm not sure what happened,
or even where he was hurt at.
It was one of those
migrating pains--
the exact location seemed to shift
every time we checked him.
He limped for the rest of the day
and continued to limp on Friday.
Sometimes he insisted on being carried up the stairs
because he was in so much pain.
And then we found the cure.

A sweet, sweet lady from church is moving soon
and offered us her basketball hoop
and bucket of balls.
We surprised the boys and picked it up on Friday.
We don't have the best driveway for it,
but we could not pass up this gift.
And that's how Kacin was healed.
Miraculously,
he could shoot hoops and run around the "court"
on both legs just fine.
It was like Christmas!
That night,
Kacin asked over and over,
can we really keep it?
He's told everyone about our new hoop.
We are all so excited, and grateful, to have it!
